Haunting Words from Elois Zeanah "Conservatives feel betrayed by Republicans," We feel it today also in the fight for our children, our schools.
Haunting words from Elois Zeanah the former Pres of Alabama Federation of Republican Women who started the fight in the Alabama Legislature to rid children of Common Core..http://blog.al.com/wire/2013/03/senate_committee_strikes_bill.html
"Conservatives feel betrayed by Republicans".
Those where her words back in 2013 but today even though Elois passed away, her words, unfortunately still ring true. Today, we see how Common Core has morphed--the federal government has common core so ingrained that it is necessary for Department of Education to be dismantled (and the programs such as for Indian tribes and for the Disabled will go to other Departments etc.) as FED ED must be stopped.
They are now into Data Collections and about affecting attitudes, values and beliefs. To fix, states have "opened doors" for charters which are public school with a difference "no elected school boards".
Yesterday Senator Brewbaker along with Quinton Ross, Vivian Figures, Paul Bussman, Trip Pittman, Hank Sanders and Shay Shellnut unwittingly did something on GSV advisors (Pro-Common Core Conglamorate) checklist--a "Perceived action that government could take to make education a more attractive industry to invest in". Only one person said no in this Committee Meeting to making all County Schools Superintendents be an appointed position vs elected.
Vivian Figures said it will "...allow a person not to go in based on popularity vote but allows school board to vet". Paul Bussman mentioned a superitendent talked to him about "...pressure on him based on public opinion." So they voted for it with only one against--Senator McLendon.
Jefferson quoted in his Bill for Religious Freedom '...and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself; that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate.'
Click on pic below to hear their own words...I think these Senators need to remember we are not for centralization...we should be for "local control." We should remember history and say "never again" as Ronald Reagan did on Bergen Belsen speech. The Children and Our Future depend on it. Watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqWRllatvc8
